Social Media Services

Social media marketing takes time and expertise, in order to build and sustain a community of engaged followers.

If you’re too busy managing your business to focus on your social media channels, consider outsourcing the work; otherwise, your Facebook, Instagram, et al. accounts will grow stale. And this can send a funky message to your followers. (Remember, they’re likely to be a mix of your customers, prospective customers, partners and employees.) The message implies that you may or may not still be open for business (though your employees hopefully know what’s what) or aren’t interested in keeping in touch with your followers. Not ideal!

Everyone Can Use Social Media, But Not Everyone’s a Social Media Marketer

While everyone can easily post content on a social media account, not everyone can do it in a way that is:

  • strategic – connected to your business’ goals, marketing objectives and plan (you have a marketing plan, right?) and complements your unique differentiators
  • marketing-smart – experienced in marketing and communication and adept at social media best practices
  • creative – content (both the words and images) that’s unique and helps your company stand out in our frenetic, bursting-at-the-seams-social-feed world
  • audience-focused – meaning, approximately 80% of the content is meant to inform, educate and entertain your social followers and connections, with just 20% being more directly promotional about your business
  • professional – no typos, correct punctuation and grammar and a professional, yet friendly, voice that reflects well on your company’s brand

10+ YEARS OF SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERTISE

My marketing experience goes back more than two decades and, for more than a decade, I’ve managed social media accounts for businesses of all sizes from a variety of industries. (You can learn more about my background and unique point of view here: Everyone Uses Social Media, But Not Everyone’s A Social Media Marketer.) Today, my focus areas are helping businesses more effectively use Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter.

I follow a process when I manage a client’s social media presence. In brief, I partner with them upfront to determine the right messaging and imagery to connect to represent their company. Then, I develop personalized, targeted, creative and consistent content to highlight the company’s products, services and personality. I monitor their accounts and engage with followers, on their behalf. And I share any timely updates they need to be aware of, as well as periodically provide them with key insights and account analytics. (I find the latter fascinating, by the way.)
